Karl started his comedy career as a stand-up comic when he was 17.  After taking a break from stand up, he decided to audition for the bit players back in 2014. He was not funny enough to get in at that point.  After many years of studying the art of Improv by watching countless hours of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Two years later, the “Bit Players” posted that they were holding auditions again, and because he is relentless, he went for it. He went all out and really showed them what he learned, but it still wasn’t good enough.  Like Mary and Joseph, he was denied entry. Karl crawled into a dark hole and only came out to go to the “Bit Player” shows to learn.  He studied, and practiced the art with a more mediating approach. His “oms” became “Yes, and.” His life became trying to be the fastest to respond to anyone with a joke. He was kicked out of many family dinners for practicing ho down and the Blues. His family told him to; “move on and give up this improv dream.” He did. He got a job at the local high school and worked for the special olympics.  He was six months clean from and thoughts of IMPROV. Until 2017. 

The Bit Players posted that they were having auditions soon. He started feeling the urge again. Many friends tried to talk him through it, but he had to just try one more time. Like that one guy said; “Third times a charm” and by god he did it. He got in! So for the past five years, Karl is still with the company trying to better himself. 

Like the great Biggie Smalls said; “This goes out to all the teachers that told me I'd never amount to nothin’.  To all the people that lived above the buildings that I was hustlin' in front of and called the police on me when I was just tryin' to make some money to feed my daughter. It’s all good baby baaaybe.”
