Firehouse Theater

4 Equality Park Place

Newport, RI 02840

The Firehouse Theater was converted into a fully functioning theater in 1999 featuring original plays as well as classics. It became exclusively a comedy house in

2009. The building was built in

1895, designed by George

Champlin Mason and was used as an actual Firehouse until the 1920s. It has been used as many things between then and 1999 such as a bus terminal, union hall, and Laundromat. The Firehouse Theater is an intimate theater, seating 75 people. It is wheelchair accessible. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as many of our shows sell out. Every show at the Firehouse is BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze). We are happy to provide our guests with cups, ice, bottle openers, cork screws, water, soft drinks, and tea all free with the price of admission.
